20230911 So many things to consider

I missed out a few days but I have kept them close to my heart. It was a timely reminder, I had a small redressing from my close friend. It has been normalized in me, and perhaps many of the guys in society to neglect the emotional aspect of life. I did, and when I spoke logically, I ended up being a wet blanket when I was supposed to be celebrating the small wins with said friend. He was rightfully livid, especially since this was not the first time this happened.

This week was also rather… solitary. To be subjected to unjustified flak as I offered my opinion and expertise, I was hurt emotionally, and sought refugee from such abuse since last Sunday. Though, looking back, I can attribute my good friend’s behaviour to the stress that he has been facing recently in regards to our nation’s archaic citizen military/conscription.

There were a few takeaways from the last few days, so I will try and summarize what I have learnt. Some of these I have learnt through self-help channels, others from friends, and the rest were from my inner monologue. I might have missed out a few, but I will add them as they come along. All of these, I will add to a new page later, for easy reference for both myself and any potential readers that may have stumbled upon my humble little adobe.

No work has been done yet on the game prototype yet. I have been using the last few days to hone and learn more about music theory. It might sound ambitious to handle everything for the game, and it truly is. That is not stopping me from learning and improving myself. I have always been fascinated by music, so I am taking this time to learn from my peers and the pioneers that have come before us.

Takeaways
  • Remember what matters.
    • We have to remember that our time on this Earth is limited. As much as it seems like there is no end, I am reminded that life is fragile and that we should spend our time wisely on the things that truly matter.
  • Emotions matter! We shan’t forget to listen to our hearts, to tend to our emotional needs too.
    • It is true that we live in a world of logic, however a bit of optimism and positivity never hurts. Do not listen to the naysayers (including yourself!) when they say it is copium.
    • If someone is acting unkindly or in a bad mood, stop to ponder what might have caused it. Be curious, and do not jump to conclusions. Be kind, and try to be there for them.
